Lions Club of Canberra Kambah Inc
We are the Lions
The Third presentation of the Lion Frank Brown Memorial Award for Community Service to the Tuggeranong Community was held on Friday 17 February at Lions Youth Haven in Kambah. Nicole Lawder, MLA announced the recipient, Barry Cleary, and the Award was presented to Barry by Fiona Brown, Frank Brown's daughter.
Barry is a Foundation Member of the St Vincent de Paul Conference of St Thomas The Apostle Church in Kambah. Barry is a well known and respected member of the Kambah community and has served the community since 1975. He continues to do so to this day.
Barry has assisted many of the needy and less fortunate in the Kambah community through both St Vincent de Paul and his plumbing business attending to problems at any time of the day and night and many times without financial reward. It is said that Barry has a heart of gold and it certainly was to those considering his nomination.
We were pleased that Senator Zed Seselja and members of the ACT Legislative Assembly, Chris Steel, Bec Cody, Andrew Wall and Mark Parton were also able to attend.
